Emma van Woerkom is a Poet, Poetry Film Maker, a fully trained Shared Reading Facilitator (trained by the Reader Organisation, UK), and winner of the 2015 Richard Booth Prize for Non Fiction. She is the author of the poetry pamphlets FOUND ME: Blackout Poetry, (Shortlisted for a Saboteur Award Best Poetry Pamphlet 2017), published by Read Fox Books and Beside the Seaside, funded by the Heritage Lottery (2014). Her work has been published home and abroad in poetry magazines, anthologies and music albums. Her poetry films have be shown at Swindon Poetry Festival 2016 and she has performed her poetry at Bristol Festival of Nature and Bristol Poetry Can Openers, Words and Ears Festival (Bradford-on-Avon), Swindon Poetry Festival 2016 as part of the Ruth Stone House Party and for the last several years at Hay Festival as part of the Hay Writers.

Born on the Welsh Marches, she has never been able to sever ties with this area, spending her time shuttlecocking between North Somerset and the book town of Hay-on-Wye.
Emma is a member of N.A.W.E (National Assoc. of Writers in Education), Arts Alive Wales Creative Network and Hay Writers’ Circle.
She is always available to discuss new private commissions, community projects and funding opportunities.
